Monthly Programming

Pokemon Club

Date: First Wednesday of the month 

Time: 4:30-5:30

Where: Conference Room

Host: Allyson

Description: Collect, Trade, Battle, Watch, and Chat all things Pokémon! We'll be playing Pokémon TCG, plus anything else related to Pokémon. Bring your friends, family, rivals, and come have fun! Don't have a deck? The library has basic decks and training sheets to borrow, it'll help get you started in the awesome world of Pokémon.

Registration: Suggested but not required


Homeschool STEM

Date: First Monday of the month (February 5, March 4, April 1, May 6)

Time: 1-3

Where: Children’s Area

Host: Jordan

Description: Homeschooling families can meet and socialize through hands-on learning and STEM activities. February activities revolve around loving your library and coding/robotics. Get a lesson on using library resources and get to play with our awesome robots! Come and be a part of a vibrant community where curiosity knows no bounds! All materials will be provided.

Registration: Required for materials. Limited to 20.


STEM Crafternoon

Date: Last Thursday of the month 

Time: 4-6

Where: Conference Room

Host: Jordan/ Allyson

Description: Do you love to create? Come to the Delmont Library DIY themed makerspace afternoon at the library. Creating not exactly your thing? Try your hand at our robot coding challenge. All materials provided.

Registration: Suggested but not required.


Bow Wow Reading

Date: Third Tuesday of the month 

Time: 4:30-5:30

Where: Conference Room

Host: Jan (dog handler, and circulation librarian)

Description: Empower hesitant readers by providing a safe, cozy space to read with a trained therapy dog, fostering confidence and enjoyment on their reading journey. This program is intended for children who can read independently. Punch cards will be given with prizes for every 4 punches! Because of required registration, please let us know of any cancelations so we may pass the time on to the next reader on our waitlist.

Registration: Required. Limited to 1 family per time slot. 4:30, 4:45, 5:00, 5:15 (if there is a lot of interest I can make them 10 minute slots.

This program is designed for children and accompanying adults. Please plan to attend and be engaged with your child for this program. Drop offs will not be permitted.

The Delmont Public Library participates in the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library!

What Is It?

Each month a new, carefully selected book will be mailed in your child's name directly to your home. The first book is always the children's classic The Little Engine That Could™. Best of all it is a FREE GIFT to your child through our partnership with local organizations! There is no cost or obligation to your family.

How Do You Register?

To register please visit the Circulation Desk at the Delmont Public Library to pick up a registration form. The form must be completed and returned to the library. It cannot be submitted online.

Who Is Eligible?

Children under the age of five in Delmont, PA.

What Are My Responsibilities?

  1. Be a resident of 15626 area code.
  2. Submit an official registration form, completely filled out by the authorized adult.
  3. Notify Delmont Library any time your address changes. Books are mailed to the address listed on the account. Note: if the child's address changes, you must contact your friends at the address on this brochure in order to continue receiving books.
  4. Read with your child and have fun!

When Will I Receive Books?

 Eight to ten weeks after your registration form has been received, books will begin arriving at your home and will continue until your child turns five or you move out of the covered area.
