Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the Friends of Delmont Public Library (FODPL). Your membership will help the Friends continue to support the library with volunteer help, programming, and purchases of books, equipment, fixtures and miscellaneous other items not possible in the library budget.
We are offering a new “thank you” this year: instead of a customized bookmark, members will now receive a coupon for one free hardcover or two free paperbacks from the Used Book sale section. All members will also receive a fine-forgiveness coupon, which entitles you to $1 in late fee forgiveness. When you return a book late, just tell the clerk you are on the Friends “oops” list, and she’ll deduct $1 from your fine.
The funding used to support Friends and its work at the Library comes primarily from your membership dues and generally from a few small fundraisers. Friends efforts have also been instrumental in the creation of our new Library; we hope to occupy the new building in December. However, due to Covid-19 this year, in-person fundraisers have been canceled and we unfortunately don’t know when we will be able to meet face to face again for larger fundraisers.
In order to continue to expand and improve these worthwhile efforts of the Friends, we need YOU! Click on the link below to join or renew your membership. In addition, please consider attending the monthly meetings, held in the Library at 6:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month. We need your talents, ideas, and suggestions. Come and be an active Friend of the Library. Hope to see you there!
